So the year is almost over … Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
I finished mixing Te’te’ in Montreal by the end of November.
Then had a quick stop in NYC and saw friends and family there on the Hudson.
I got home just in time to do some recording and mixing on The Doobie Brother’s new record.
Spending the last work week of the year in awesome Sunset Sound Studio 1.
I am looking forward to editing INQ’s dvd soon in the new year and mixing a new EP for Jacksonville’s Fusebox Funk.
All in all a great and blessed year 2009.
Keep on Rockin and lets pray for peace in the world.

Man oh Man, its a blur right now. The past few months have been a fast paced blur.
I have been up in Portland recently making a new record with Te’Te’ a very cool organic French artist.
Steve Berlin of Los Lobos is producing. We have Davey Faragher on bass, from Elvis Costello’s band, Brian Macleod on drums, and Val Macallum on guitar for basic tracking. We are in Portland through October and I’ll be working in Montreal in November finishing up and mixing the record.
The summer was busy and fun. I was in Bloomington, Indiana for a bit finishing up my part of the Ghost Brothers of Darkland project with Stephen King and John Mellencamp. This has been a very interesting and exciting project and I am proud to be a part of it.
The Doobie Brothers record is getting close to being done. Not done yet but close.
Recently the Sick Puppies single I engineered went to number one at active rock. YEH !! Go Shim,Emma and Mark !!!
A labor of love has been the poet IN-Q. We shot a dvd / video live show on September 24th at the Greenway court theatre.
I will keep you posted on the editing. He is the bomb so check him out.

Hey y’all
Summer is here in the city …. HOT AND FUN
I just spent a really fun couple of weeks at Village Recorder working on a fun project that is a collaboration between John Mellencamp and Stephen King with T Bone Burnett producing the music.
Ghostbrothers blog
Stephen King blog
John has been developing a story with Stephen for many years that is finally coming to fruition as a DVD/Book/Stage Play and whatever other media it ends up as.
The story is a ghost story with the participation of many well known artists. The artists play characters as well as sing songs. It is a very interesting and creative idea. I feel very fortunate to have the chance to be part of this project. Keep your eyes peeled as it develops.
I am continuing on with Ted Templeman to finish the Doobie Brothers record as the summer progresses
I’ll keep you posted on that front too.
Stay cool and keep on Rockin !

Happy Easter, since the last post was Valentines Day, I felt Easter was an appropriate day to post again.
All good in the hood. Everything is Everything…. and all that
The Sick Puppies record is fully tracked and it kills so far and is being mixed as we speak.
I am still marching forward on the Doobie Brothers record.
I think we should be mixing soon. The Doobie Brothers have a busy touring schedule this year with a bunch of great shows.
I am also close to mixing Brandon White , the killer young talent from Arkansas.
Like I said
Everything is Everything
Peace Out

Love Love Love
all we need is love…..
On this wonderful Valentines day morning, I have just finished up another 2 plus weeks on the new Doobies record.
Studio D in Sausalito worked great for the overdubs.
Some of the highlights were some of the outside musicians.
Billy Paine of Little Feat played some amazing piano and organ
He is one of the finest muscians on earth.

Carl Perazza, who is in Santana’s band schooled the room on what it means to groove.

Marc Russo and Tower of Power’s Mic Gillette put some great horn parts down.

Next Up Sick Puppies….
Starting on Monday I will get back into the new Sick Puppies record and sleep in my own bed for a few weeks !!!!

A BUSY 2009 NEW YEAR , A GOOD START ON GOOD ART
Hey Gang. The new year has blasted out of the box. I started right away tracking drums at Ocean Studios with Matt Laug for producer Gary Clark and artist RyanDan.

Before going back with The Doobie Brothers, I squeezed a couple of tracking days with cool Indie artist Shane Alexander at Stagg Street.
then, I went back to John Mcfee’s studio do another couple weeks with the Doobie’s.

John Mcfee playing banjo
From there I went to the Namm show for a couple of appearances in the Waves plugin booth.
Immediately following I flew to the midwest for tracking session with new artist Brandon White
Brandon has one of those low Johnny Cash type sounding voices, with a high falsetto like Jeff Buckley.
Look out for Brandon in the upcoming months !!
While I was away tracking Brandon,my 11 year old son Brady, earned his 1st dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do
YEH, I am so very proud

With the month not yet over, I am about to head back up to No. Cal to Studio D in Sausalito to record more Doobie’s
I’ll keep you posted
